This work commemorates the commissioning of the US Navy's warship, the USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG81) and its first visit to the United Kingdom in August 2001.On the 7th December 1941 the Japanese struck at Pearl Harbour, within days Winston sailed for the United States on board HMS Duke of York, his second wartime meeting with President Roosevelt.This statue measures 13 1/2 inches (33 cms) tall and the base is 5 x 4 inches (12.5 x 10cms). |

| Terramundi money pots are hand thrown in Italy and hand painted in London. Terramundi money pots have become ever popular with their beautiful colours and designs, let me tell you a bit about the history and traditions of these lovely pots... Terramundi money pots have been traditionally used in Italy for over 2000 years and their hand thrown design has remained unchanged. The British Museum houses examples of these ancient money pots. Once the first coin is dropped the money pot must be fed until full upon which time it must be smashed whilst making a wish. It is customary to replace the pot and spend the money on 'good things', as they bring good fortune. Money pots are sometimes used to house a candle or a plant once smashed. The best way to break your money pot is to get a chisel or the back of a hammer and place it inside the money slot - slowly lever the top and you should be able to pop the top off - you can now use the money pots to house a plant, sweets or pens. Dimensions: Terramundi money pots stand between 17 and 19cms in height. Each money pot contains a separate fortune, date and desire card. Money pots can hold approximately £200 in mixed silver. |

| This is a cold-cast resin bronze of Winston Churchill created for Members and Friends of the International Churchill Society by the sculptor Peter Hicks.On September 1st. 1939 Germany invaded Poland. Two days later Britain and France declared war on Germany. The following day Mr. Churchill joined the Government as First Lord of the Admiralty, the post he had occupied at the outbreak of the First World War. Churchill had been out of office for eleven years. On hearing of his appointment the Board of the Admiralty immediately signalled the Fleet, 'Winston is back'. This statue measures 12 inches (30 cms) tall and the base is 4 x 8 inches (10 x 20cms). |
